30-year-old woman charged in Hamilton winter crash

Hamilton Police have laid several charges against a 30-year-old woman after a deadly crash this past winter.

Police say on the evening of February 17th , 2026, a 2025 Jeep Compass, driven by a 29-year-old woman, was travelling westbound on Wilson Street at a high rate of speed in dense fog.

At the same time, a 2022 Acura MDX, operated by a 52-year-old man, had exited Highway 403 and was attempting to turn left onto Wilson Street when the two vehicles collided.

The 52-year-old driver died in the crash.

As a result of the investigation, the now 30-year-old woman from Hagersville has been arrested and charged with dangerous operation causing death, stunt driving, speeding 130 in a 60 kilometre zone, and failing to wear a seatbelt.

The suspect will appear in court in August, and has been released from custody.
