35-year-old Hamilton man arrested in trafficking investigation

A 35-year-old man has been arrested on human trafficking charges in Niagara.

Police say they started an investigation into the trafficking of a woman within Niagara Region and elsewhere in Canada in the fall of last year.

35-year-old, Jermayne Henwood of Hamilton was arrested today and charged with Trafficking in Persons, Material Benefit from Trafficking in Persons, Material Benefit from Sexual Services, Advertising Another Person’s Sexual Services, Procuring, Withholding Documents, Administer Noxious Substance, Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

Detectives believe that there may be other victims and are asking anyone who believes they may be a victim or knows of anyone who has had an interaction with Henwood to contact them at (905) 688-4111, option 3, extension 1029736.
