A Ridgeway man is facing multiple drug-related charges following a months-long investigation.
Earlier this year, detectives began investigating suspected drug trafficking activity at a residence on Nicolas Road in Ridgeway.
On May 26, investigators obtained a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant for the property.
The following day, detectives executed the warrant.
During the search of the residence, officers seized approximately 2.3 grams of suspected fentanyl, 6.6 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, a large quantity of empty methadone bottles not prescribed to the accused, and other items believed to be consistent with drug trafficking activity.
A replica BB handgun was also recovered.
As a result of the investigation, 49-year-old Raffaele Petrarzuolo of Ridgeway was arrested and charged with several offences, including:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl)
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (crystal methamphetamine)
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (opioid)
- Failing to comply with probation
Police say Petrarzuolo was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
In a further development, 35-year-old Candace Kasper of Fort Erie was also arrested at the residence on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with a probation order.
The investigation remains ongoing.
