The province has appointed Bob Gale’s replacement at Niagara Parks.

The Niagara Parks Commission has announced Graham Coveney will be the next Chair of the Board of Commissioners.

Coveney succeeds Regional Chair Bob Gale who previously served as Niagara Parks Chair until his appointment late last year.

Coveney has served as Vice-Chair of the Niagara Parks Commission since January 11, 2024, and previously served as a Commissioner from 2019 to 2022, during which time he served as Chair of the Property and Infrastructure Committee.

“I am looking forward to the opportunity to continue to help lead this great organization along with the excellent team we have. There are many exciting things ahead for Niagara Parks, including being a part of and helping to implement the Province’s Destination Niagara Strategy.” Graham Coveney, Niagara Parks Chair

Gale, has called on the province to help overhaul Niagara’s political structure saying the region is in need of urgent reform, including possible amalgamation.

He says our current political landscape undermines the provincial government’s ambitious agenda for Niagara, including its Destination Niagara strategy, which was announced last December by Premier Doug Ford.
