One dog has died after being shot by a police officer in Niagara Falls.
Last evening around 5:30pm, police were called to the area of Thorold Stone Road and Kalar Road for reports of three aggressive dogs on the loose.
One dog allegedly bit a man, and another one scratched and damaged an SUV.
When police arrived, one of the dogs attacked an officer, pushing him into traffic.
The officer then shot the dog with his service rifle, resulting in the dog dying on scene.
The other two dogs were captured and later returned to their owner.
The deceased dog was taken from the scene by the Niagara SPCA.
