Hundreds of protestors have gathered in front of Hamilton City Hall.
The group is calling on the city’s committee of adjustment to vote against a massive AI data centre being built on Stelco’s former steelmaking lands.
Slate Asset Management has asked Hamilton to set aside 188 acres for the project.
Concerned residents have been flooding city hall with opposition letters and emails saying the centres will put profits before people, and they are worried about the environmental impact as well as noise issues.
