Niagara has been recognized for its work surrounding early childhood centres.
Niagara Region’s Children’s Services has been awarded the 2026 Local Municipal Champion Award for its work integrating EarlyON Child and Family Centres into a new community hub model.
The award is handed out to those working to better connect services for residents.
The region has created a community hub around the centres so that families can be referred to other supports such as housing, mental health and family services.
There are 26 EarlyON Centres in Niagara and last year they welcomed nearly 15-thousand children for a total of over 80-thousand visits.
