Artificial Intelligence Minister Evan Solomon says Canada is not considering a ban on social media platform X.

The platform, owned by Elon Musk, faces criticism over sexualized deepfakes created by its chatbot Grok.

The UK is investigating the issue and seeking international support, with Canada sharing concerns but not pursuing a ban.

Solomon highlighted a government bill introduced last year that would criminalize sexual deepfakes.

Solomon is in Niagara today making an announcement alongside St. Catharines MP Chris Bittle.

They are expected to unveil tariff relief for businesses affected by trade disruptions.
