Canada’s oldest man, veteran, and Fort Erie resident Burd Sisler dies at 110

A Niagara veteran, and Canada’s oldest living person, has died at 110.

110-year-old Burd Sisler of Fort Erie is a veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, having served our country during the Second World War.

He spent 30 years working for the Canada Border Services Agency and raised a family in Fort Erie.

He was also recently honoured at Queen’s Park by Niagara Falls NDP MPP Wayne Gates who says Burd is truly incredible and a special person.

Burd passed at Garrison Place surrounded by his loving family at his side.

Burd has five children, 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

He was only 2 weeks away from turning 111.
