The Clarence Street Bridge, or Bridge 21, remains closed in Port Colborne after it was hit by a cargo vessel last Thursday.
The ship hit the east tower of the vertical-lift bridge, forcing a closure for inspections and repairs.
Mayor Bill Steele says they don’t have a timeline for reopening.
“I know they want to make sure everything is fine once they make a decision on the day they will re-open the bridge. It has been going up and down, they are testing it. They have a number of engineers looking at this. If you look at the ship itself, you can imagine the kind of damage that was done to the bridge.”
Steele says they are working to give residents who need help navigating the closure coupons for OnDemand transit rides.
