The President for CUPE 4207 has responded to the recent mass layoffs at Brock University.
Earlier this week, a number of Brock University staff had received layoff notices in what the university says is part of a broader strategy to streamline operations amid budget constraints.
The number of staff being laid off has not been disclosed, which the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation said is fueling widespread frustration and uncertainty among its members.
Phil Wachel, president of the Canadian Union of Public Employees for local 4207 sent a letter to OSSTF 35 members expressing support.
Going on to accuse the St. Catharines university of creating a crisis, calling it a callous move.
