A final goodbye for Burd Sisler today.
The Fort Erie man died a week ago at the age of 110, making him the oldest known living person in Canada at the time.
He was also the country’s oldest known living World War II veteran
Visitation is being held at Benner Funeral Home in Fort Erie today at 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service in the Chapel at 11 a.m.
A number of communities in Niagara are lowering flags to show respect.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #71 or a charity of your choice.
