A second Hamilton man has been arrested, accused of drugging women and sexually assaulting them.
Hamilton Police say their investigation started in May of 2025 when they arrested Bryan Hayward in connection with multiple sexual assault-related offences.
As the investigation progressed, investigators identified additional victims and gathered further evidence, which led to the identification and arrest of a second accused, Gilles Richard.
Investigators allege that Richard became involved with Hayward through an online platform and arranged sexual encounters involving adult victims.
Police further allege that victims were administered drugs without their knowledge or consent and sexually assaulted while incapacitated.
43-year-old Gilles Richard of Hamilton is charged with Gang Sexual Assault, Administer a Stupefying or Overpowering Drug, Procuring and Fail to Comply with Probation.
37-year-old Bryan Hayward of Hamilton faces additional charges of Sexual Assault, Voyeurism, Gang Sexual Assault, and Administer a Stupefying or Overpowering Drug.
Investigators believe there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward.
Hamilton Police are releasing a photo of Gilles Richard as investigators continue to seek information from the community.
Police believe some individuals may have connected with the accused through online dating platforms, social media, or arranged meetings and may not realize they were victimized.
The alleged crimes were detailed in “Sleeping with the Enemy” a documentary series by CTV’s W5, led by journalist Avery Haines.
She exposed an international, underground online network of men who secretly drug, rape, and record their wives and girlfriends, and then share and sell the videos.
Police say Hayward is easily identified as he has an amputated left hand. Click here to see a picture and read more on his original charges.
