History is in the making today as the Iron Scow, a 107-year-old ship wreck lodged above Niagara Falls, has shifted downstream.
Earlier today, the scow’s bow broke loose, shifting even further away from its original resting spot.
The scow became lodged in 1918, after it, along with two men aboard, broke loose from its towing tug and became lodged in the rapids of the upper Niagara River.
Both men were rescued safely the following day.
Severe weather conditions on October 31, 2019 caused the scow to shift significantly from the spot it remained in for over 100 years.
