The Humane Society of Greater Niagara is asking drivers to practice caution and patience following recent sightings of wild turkeys near Martindale Road and Highway 406.
While some see the turkeys as a public safety concern, others are welcoming them as part of the city’s natural wildlife.
They’re also reminding residents that the trapping, relocation, or intentional harming of any local wildlife is strictly regulated under provincial law.
The City of St. Catharines and HSGN ask drivers to stay alert along Martindale Road, and to report road hazards involving animals to authorities.
