Nine people have been arrested, and police are searching for two other suspects following a major stolen vehicle bust.
Niagara Regional Police say ‘Project Jack Links’ started back in April of 2025.
The initial investigation turned into a complex organized auto theft network across Southern Ontario.
In total seven youth aged 16-to-17 have been arrested along with an 18-year-old and a 23-year-old from Hamilton.
Police say the thefts involved newer model Lexus and Toyota vehicles and the losses exceed 20-million dollars across the province.
Investigators believe those vehicles were being prepared for export to ports in West Africa.
83 stolen vehicles worth 5.5-million dollars were recovered when police searched the Port of Montreal.
Police are still searching for 20-year-old Ryan Ramayah Permauloo from North Dumfries and 22-year-old Mamadi Kaba from Quebec.
The investigation is ongoing and officials believe there will be more arrests.
