Niagara Police Asking For Public Assistance In Arson Investigation

ST. CATHARINES _ Niagara Regional Police are asking for the public’s help as they investigate a suspected arson in St. Catharines.

Officers were called to the area of Cayuga Street around 9:25 p.m. on Monday, December 29, after receiving reports of a vehicle fire.

The vehicle was parked and unoccupied in the driveway of a residence at the time.

St. Catharines Fire Services extinguished the fire. Following an investigation, police determined the vehicle had been intentionally set on fire using gasoline.

No suspect has been identified.

Detectives are now appealing for video surveillance from the area.

Residents and businesses along Cayuga Street are asked to review security or doorbell camera footage recorded between 9:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on December 29 and report anything suspicious.
