Niagara is under two weather warnings today as we make our way into the weekend.
Environment Canada says poor visibility in snow and blowing snow is expected beginning this afternoon or early this evening, as wind gusts up to 70 or 80 km/h are possible.
Visibility may even be near zero at times for wind-prone and exposed areas.
We’re also under a cold weather advisory for this weekend.
Starting tonight, a prolonged period of very cold wind chills as low as minus 30 are expected.
This starting tonight into Saturday morning, and may return Saturday night into Sunday morning.
Extreme cold puts everyone at risk.
The weather agency is reminding everyone that risks are greater for young children, older adults, people with chronic illnesses, people working or exercising outdoors, and those without proper shelter.
Watch for cold related symptoms: shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness and colour change in fingers and toes.
