Port Colborne has approved a new short-term rental by-law.
City Council is moving forward with the new regulations that will come into effect on November 1st.
Mayor Bill Steele tells CKTB it is meant to support safe and compliant rentals while addressing residential concerns.
The rules state that operators must have a local contact person available 24/7 and the occupancy is limited by the number of bedrooms.
Rentals must also provide adequate on-site parking and store garbage in secure containers in approved areas.
An online application will be available by October 1st.
