A major development for the former hospital site in St. Catharines is moving forward.
City Council approving a plan that includes nine 24-storey towers and more than 24-hundred units on the Queenston Street property.
Mayor Mat Siscoe says this is great news for the city and the developer has been on site for eight months working on cleaning up the site.
Siscoe says the hope is to see shovels in the ground for the first building as early as this coming spring.
Visit the Niagara in the Morning page to listen to Siscoe discuss the development with Steph Vivier.
It will takes a few years before the entire site is complete.
The property has been vacant since the old hospital closed in 2013.
