Relief efforts for Niagara workers heading home to Jamaica following Hurricane Melissa

There is an effort to help Jamaicans working in Niagara as they return to homes that have been devastated by hurricane Melissa.

Niagara Workers Welcome is accepting donations that will go towards things such as rechargeable headlamps, solar lanterns and battery rechargers.

Those will go with workers that are expected to return home to Jamaica over the next few weeks.

The Farmworker Hub at 1570 Niagara Stone Road in Virgil is collecting donations.

They are looking for everything from tools and equipment to medical supplies and household items.

Here is a breakdown of what they are looking for.

Migrant Workers Alliance for Change is collecting funds that will be used for shelter and food.
