The Neil Peart Memorial at Lakeside Park is moving forward with some help from RUSH.
St. Catharines City Councilor Marty Mako telling council this week that the band will be chipping in some cash to the effort following their upcoming tour.
He says to date the task force has raised just over $200,000 for the million-dollar project.
Plans include two bronze statues of Peart that will be connected by an interactive pathway.
The drummer grew up not far from Lakeside Park and passed away in 2020 from brain cancer.
Council also waiving the city’s public appointments policy to appoint Judy Peart as the Peart family representative to the memorial task force.
