Wednesday might be the last time you see the Snowbirds for a long time.
The Canadian Armed Forces Snowbirds will be flying alongside the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum iconic Lancaster and B-25 Mitchell.
Officials say it’s a chance to pay tribute to the proud history of 431 Bomber Squadron, a legacy we’re proud to have inherited.
The planned route will take them over Hamilton Airport, where they will form up with the Lancaster at approximately 2:25 p.m. then head out to Niagara Falls for a couple of passes before returning to Hamilton.
A meet and greet will be held at the Warplane museum following the flight.
The Snowbirds are currently flying their final season in the iconic CT-114 Tutor jets.
After this season, the aerobatics team will be indefinitely grounded as their aging 60-year-old aircraft are retired, with plans to return to the skies in the early 2030s using newly procured aircraft.
