St. Catharines man charged with second degree murder

A St. Catharines Man is now facing second degree murder charges.

It all stems from an incident back on November 2nd of 2025.

54-year-old Jack Legault was injured in an assault near Queenston Street and Eastchester Avenue.

He was taken to an out-of-town hospital with serious injuries.

36-year-old Richard Taylor was originally arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm.

On December 15 Legault died as a result of the injuries.

At a court appearance yesterday the charges against Taylor were upgraded to second degree murder.
