The City of St. Catharines is inviting 2SLGBTQIA+ artists across Niagara to participate in their latest Pride month exhibition.

“Full Colour: A Celebration of 2SLGBTQIA+ Art and Expression” will be presented in June, with the exhibition bringing together artists working across disciplines to explore queer and trans identity and community, build connection, and imagine new possibilities.

“In the current climate where 2SLGBTQIA+ rights and lives are increasingly under scrutiny, “Full Colour” is a statement of presence, resilience, and joy. It’s about taking up space and celebrating the artists who continue to do so every day.” Leigh McLeod, founder and director of Willow Arts Community.
The City welcomes submissions engaging themes including, but not limited to:
  • Identity, gender and sexuality
  • Visibility, resistance, and advocacy
  • Joy, celebration and chosen family
  • Memory, history and community archies
  • Transformation, fluidity and becoming
  • Futures, imagination, and queer world-building

The City of St. Catharines says original artwork submissions are open to all emerging, student or established artists, designers and collectives in the Niagara Region. Selected artists will be compensated $225.

Submission deadline is Sunday, May 10 at 11:30PM. Visit Calls to Artists – St. Catharines for more information.
