Niagara Regional Police say three drivers were nabbed in Super Bowl R.I.D.E programs.

Officers were out yesterday in St. Catharines and Niagara Falls conducting roadside spot checks aimed at finding impaired drivers.

150 vehicles were stopped, and 19 drivers were required to provide a sample of their breath for analysis.

A total of three drivers provided a sample, which resulted in an “Alert”, and subsequently received a seven-day licence suspension.

Police also issued tickets for various traffic related offences, including one driver who was operating their vehicle without valid insurance.

Impaired driving remains the leading criminal offence causing death in Canada.
