A long drive home for some in Port Colborne after an incident closed the Clarence Street Bridge.
Witnesses say a ship moving through the Welland Canal made contact with the bridge earlier today.
The St. Lawrence Seaway say as a precaution, the bridge has been closed to both vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
There are no reported injuries or environmental impacts.
Crews are on site assessing the situation, and more information will be shared as it becomes available.
The bridge is currently stuck in the upright position.
