A yellow rainfall warning continues for Niagara.

Rain will be heavy at times today and the saturated or frozen ground will have little ability to absorb this rainfall.

Up to 40 mm is possible, with areas getting thunderstorms expected to received higher amounts.

Water will likely pool on roads and in low-lying areas.

Officials advise residents not to drive through flooded roadways, to avoid low-lying areas, and watch for washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.

The Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority has issued a Flood Watch Statement.

Residents are urged to stay away from creeks, rivers and all waterbodies at this time due to slippery slopes and elevated water levels as they can be hazardous.

Specific areas of concern are 20 Mile Creek in West Lincoln and areas near the escarpment, which are already seeing high water levels.
